Travel letter 11 - Cayo Largo, Jan 12, 2007
21 37 19 N 81 35 50 WSantiago – Cayo Largo, with Bitten
Dear friends:
4.1.07: Just met my lovergirl at the airport in Havana (cod to Lofoten?). We were cultural for some days. Learned all about how to perform and maintain a revolution. Discovered 7 Hemingway Bars.

Havana: From left: Bitten, Camillo and Che.

Havana: Same models?
8.1.07: Cienfuegos/Trinidad: Just go there and see yourselves! Recommended on all aspects. The waves on the south coast of Cuba on our way to Cayo Largo surprised us. Bitten got more sea-sick than Steinar (n)ever has been. So we had a long typical tourist stop-over at Cayo Largo where we made some nice local friends.due to our fluent Spanish.
Cuba: To describe with a few words: Forget your chart plotter. Customs (mulatas only) always wear mini-skirt. Safe, nice people, a lot to see, no meat, no cereals, no icecream, one day no bread, another day no tomatoes and next day no eggs. Only second hand spare parts (they even had an old impellor that fitted in my new generator), dirty diesel. Water come and goes. Luckily the water was clean enough in Cayo Largo to let the watermaker run at the slip. Dubious shore power and metal pontoon – ware rubber shoes! Good diving. Favourite dinner: Lobster with French fries and ketchup. Even sigars are expensive. A very good place to leave the boat for a while. Juana y Manuel, Vulevo un dia, seguramente.
